Re-drawing the characters body

I knew that I wanted to re-draw the body this semester, since the initial drawing was quickly drawn and not very good. I wanted to include a musket gun some how, have him holding it, I had almost finished drawing it when I realised that I had drawn it the wrong way, so I changed the whole position that he would be standing in. Since I am not going to be animating the whole character, only his face, I decided that I could draw him in an position I wanted to.

I began by drawing the musket, I used this image as a reference.1805 'Baker' Rifle - The Battle of Waterloo - Royal Armouries ...
When I realised my mistake in drawing it I looked up images to get ideas for what I want him to look like. I liked these three. However, in the end I wanted him to be leaning on the gun, and chose his final pose.

I kinda forgot to take screenshots of the drawing process, but I think it took around 7-8 hours in total to finish. Here it is next to the initial drawing I has in the first semester.

Struggling with this project

I think since the whole lock-down a lot of the course is really struggling to get any work done. I also find it very difficult and I understand the situation, but it means that this whole project has come to a stop as of now. This is because I personally can't work on anything other than the character until I know from other people what needs to be done.

So, before face-to-face teaching was cancelled we had all decided a plan of action. I would draw the three artefacts that will be used in the tutorial and found by the player, as well as be made into AR. I would also be working along side Glenn to create a script for Tony and the character. I would also be drawing assets for Emily's timeline. However since nobody is really doing any work, I don't know where any of these things stand, so I don't know if I carry on drawing the artefacts, of assets for Emily.

Everything is just very confusing and stressful at the moment. I am going to suggest a group call to talk about the project, but some people are not in the right head space to be able to do any work, and this worries me.

Final reflection

I think that in the first semester I really enjoyed this brief and was very excited to do work for it. However, because I was excited to do...
